2023 Royal Ranger Derbies

Both events are open to all Royal Rangers, mPact, parents, or anyone wishing to race a car!

This year, Calvary Assembly Royal Rangers and mPact ladies will build a wood car during three regular Wednesday evening meetings (February 01, February 08, and February 15, 2023). Royal Rangers will earn their Model and Design Skill Merit after these sessions and racing in a Derby. Please provide $5 to cover the cost of each car.

Parents or non-Ranger/mPact siblings may want to make their own and can purchase a car to build at home. 

In addition, beginning this year, we will have Lego cars (baseplate and wheels for $7) that Rangers, mPact, parents, and others may purchase and build at home (racers need to provide their own Lego blocks). Both derbies below will race both wood and Lego cars.

Central North Area Royal Rangers Derby

8-9 a.m. Car Registration

Event Begins at 9:15 a.m.

This event is the primary fundraiser for the Central North Area Royal Rangers. Prices are per person:

Pre-Registration $11 for the first car 

At the Gate: $13 for first car

Each additional car: $3

General admission: $1

Calvary Assembly of God Ranger/mPact Derby

5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Car Registration

Event Begins at 6:30 p.m.

Wood car specifications:

Please provide $5 for the wood car. Outpost 9 and mPact will provide all other materials (sandpaper, tools, paint, brushes, etc.)

Lego car specifications:

Rangers and mPact will not build Lego cars at Wednesday Royal Ranger or mPact meetings. 

The cost of a Lego car is $7 and will only include the 6x16 Lego baseplate and wheels/axles. Racers must use their own Lego bricks to build the body of the car.
